I've loved food and cooking for people. Honestly some of the best memories I have involves food and get togethers with friends and family.
I really started my culinary journey at Francis Tuttle Technology Centers Rockwell Campus back in 2008. While I was there I studied under Chef Claes Passmark. Although he ended up throwing the regular course work out the window he took the time to teach me more about food and baking than I ever would have learned by just taking a class.
From there I had the opportunity to go to Johnson & Wales University at their Charlotte NC campus. My time there further developed my knowledge and love for cooking.
After college I did a few catering jobs with the help of some of my friends from Francis Tuttle and my parents, but other than that my culinary adventures took an unintended pause. I found out that my degree and education did not matter much to employers back home so I took any job that I could get that would pay the bills.
At my current job I have become the potluck guy and it has brought back my desire to cook for people. Now I'm trying to start up Uncle John's Smokehouse so I can bring some of my favorite flavors to you.
This won't be a fast process so please be patient while I'm trying to get everything started. I'm hoping I can get everything going before the end of 2026 but we'll see how it goes.
